COVID-19 testing in Aradippou will complete sample taking among residents today amid hopes that the outbreak in the community is under control.
Results have come in for about 550 samples so far, with six testing positive.
The Health Ministry and the municipality decided on the wider testing after a disproportionately high number of positive cases in the community.
Mayor Evangelos Evangelides told CNA said samples were first taken from people working at supermarkets and other businesses still open and catering to the public as well as those who had come into contact with confirmed cases and others who expressed an interest to test.
Another 250 samples are expected to be taken today, with Evangelides saying this will give a true picture of the situation.
The mayor noted that there was no room for complacency and measures were continuing to be implemented.
He spoke of relief among residents about the results so far, but noted that more results were due and everyone should be careful and comply with social distancing rules.
Overall so far, Aradippou has 45 confirmed cases.
