The Supreme Court, in the light of the urgent need to take measures to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 and to faithfully comply with the relevant instructions issued by the Medical Services of the Ministry of Health, proceeded with the adjournment and resuming a series of cases in all Courts.
The Supreme Court, re-evaluating the data and taking into account the current circumstances, the relevant decrees of the competent authorities and the Driver’s plan to reopen the Courts of the Ministry of Health’s Interdisciplinary Supervision Unit Pancyprian and the local Bar Associations, as well as those of the Administrative Presidents of the District Courts as well as the Courts of Special Jurisdiction.
In light of the above, the Supreme Court ruled as follows:
1. From Monday, 4 May, the normal operation of all Protocols will begin. As a result, it will be possible to file both lawsuits and lawsuits and criminal cases, as well as to take oaths in affidavits in general.
2. The Courts of First Instance of each jurisdiction shall proceed with the planning of the cases before them, in such a way as to make their further promotion possible, always taking into account the relevant decrees and directives, the Medical Services of the Ministry of Health, as well as the special treaties. the needs of each jurisdiction, as one of the existing building facilities, for the purpose of, on the one hand, the smooth functioning of the Courts as much as possible and, on the other hand, the safeguarding of the health of all parties. of the trial.
With regard to the first appearances and in order to avoid unwanted overcrowding, relevant instructions will be issued by the competent Courts for their appointment on a new date and a relevant notice will be given by the competent protocols to the parties involved.
3. With regard to the Supreme Court, the adjudication of the cases before it shall be regulated by the Presidents of the compositions and the interested parties shall be informed accordingly.
As already announced, the court vacations will be limited to the month of August, in order to be able to carry out the delays caused by the coronation and the suspension of the trial of cases.
