Police arrested a 22-year-old foreigner in connection with the attempted robbery of a store, which was done last night in Limassol.
Around 21:45, a man who covered his face with a hoodie walked into the kiosk on Anexartisias street holding an axe and demanded the day’s takings.
When she refused and resisted he pushed her to the floor, grabbed 800 euros from the till and fled on foot.
Police rushed to the scene and searched in the area disclosed that the same man had earlier attempted to break into a souvenir shop, about 200 meters from the kiosk.
The perpetrator broke the glass entrance with a stone but did not enter it, while blood stains were found on the scene.
As part of the investigation and CCTV footage was examined, the Police arrested 22-year-old foreigner in the morning, a permanent resident of Cyprus.
