Buses can only carry 50 percent of passengers from their capacity. At the same time, there are restrictions also on the number of passengers that can travel in a taxi. The Ministry of transport has explained as Cyprus plans to lift the lockdown.
From Monday, 4 May, bus companies, airport shuttle service, and other coaches, can carry half number of passengers space they have.
The scrapping of bus routes on Sundays and holidays continues.
For taxis, those that have space of four passengers can carry a maximum of two (excluding the driver). Bigger taxis can carry a maximum of three passengers (excluding the driver).
Updated instructions have issued to protect passengers and employees.
Personal protection measures for the driver Include gloves, masks, and able to respond if a passenger shows Covid-19 symptoms.
These instructions also include measures the company must take to inform and protect passengers and employees, as well as how to deal with possible Covid-19 cases.
