Particularly encouraging are the new charts on the evolution of the COVID-19 disease pandemic in Cyprus, two months after the announcement of the first two confirmed cases.
The revised data, as of May 7, show that almost half of the confirmed patients have recovered, while the Intensive Care Units are being discharged more and more.
In particular, the graph below shows to all of us that the effort made by citizens and the government has yielded the desired results. Corona cases in Cyprus have fallen sharply and the curve has fallen to low levels.
As of May 7, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases was 888, of which 401 had recovered. In terms of deaths, the final cause of the disease is 15.
Regarding the sex of the patients, the cases are equally divided between men and women. Most were observed in the 18-59 age group and the fewest between the ages of 0-17.
Now, the area with the most cases of domestic transmission per 100 thousand inhabitants is Paphos and Larnaca follows. As far as ICUs are concerned, it is clear that the number of patients is declining.
